Composite roofing tiles have a second name - modern metal tiles. This roofing material was invented in 1956 in New Zealand.
The metal tile was covered with several different protective layers, artificially combining all of them into one composite.
Composition of composite layers
A thin sheet of steel (0.45-0.5 mm) is coated on both sides with aluzinc (Al≈55%, Zn≈43.4%, Cr≈1.6%), then with a 2 micron primer. A thick layer (200 microns) of acrylic resin is applied to the outside on top of the primer (ground), on which different-fraction stone chips are fixed. Finishing outer layer - acrylic glaze, additionally fixes the colored dressing from shedding and gives shine to the shingles. Application of each layer is accompanied by high temperature drying.
Aluzinc alloy protects steel sheet up to 6 times better than simple zinc plating.
