Despite the variety, all terraces can be conditionally divided according to their location into several groups.
Terraces-extensions are mainly built in the form of a porch at the entrance to the house or along the side wall. They also have the same floor level with the house. Columns are arranged along the perimeter of the extension, on which the ceiling rests. They are rectangular, adjacent only to one wall of the cottage, or galleries, located both along the perimeter of the building, and adjacent to two, three or more walls. Also, the terraces can be multi-level. Often, for the possibility of resting in bad weather, a special fence is used.
Alternatively, the terrace can be an integral part of the building and share one roof with it.
