According to the American Institute of Iron and Steel (AISI), for the week ending April 25, 2026, domestic production of raw steel in the United States amounted to 1.830 million net tons, and the capacity utilization rate was 79.3 percent.
Production for the week ending April 25, 2026 decreased by 1.0 percent compared to the previous week ending April 18, 2026, when production was 1.848 million net tons and capacity utilization was 80.0 percent.
Production totaled 1.684 million net tons for the week ended April 25, 2025, and capacity utilization was 75.0 percent. Production this week represents an increase of 8.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Adjusted production from the beginning of the year to April 25, 2026 amounted to 29.549 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 77.8 percent. This is 6.0 percent more than 27,888 million net tons in the same period last year, when the capacity utilization rate was 76.1 percent.
