New vehicle sales in April 2026 were 183,921 units, reflecting a 4.2 per cent month-on-month increase and a 6.0 per cent year-on-year decline, according to Statistics Canada. In value terms, Canadian auto sales were $10.63 billion in April, up from $10.19 billion in March and $10.81 billion in April 2025.
Canadian sales of North American-produced vehicles totaled 124,089 units in April, valued at $7.53 billion, and sales of foreign-produced vehicles totaled 59,832 units valued at $3.10. billion
