In the first five months of this year, Colombia exported 33,152 tons of ferronickel, down 40.5 percent, worth $107.60 million, down 43.0 percent year on year, Colombia's National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) announced. In May alone, Colombian ferronickel exports totaled 11,504 tons, up seven percent, to $40.33 million, up 6.2 percent in both cases year-on-year.
In January-May this year, Colombian iron and steel exports totaled 72,423 tons, down 32.3 percent, to US$184.46 million. by 32.9 percent, year on year. In May alone, Colombia's iron and steel exports totaled 22,597 tons, an increase of nine percent, to $58.96 million, up 3.1 percent from the same month in 2025.
