Brazilian iron ore exports (excluding pellets) reached 39.818 million metric tons (mt) in June, up from 25.576 million mt in May, up 56 percent, according to Secex, Brazil's foreign trade secretariat under the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Secex said the decline mainly reflected higher exports to China, 32.068 million tons versus 20.562 million tons in May.
The main destinations were Asia (35.989 million tons), the Middle East (1.472 million tons), Europe (1.340 million tons), South America (712.9 thousand tons), Africa (178.2 thousand tons) and Mexico (126 thousand tons). tons).
At the same time, pellet exports decreased by one percent to 2.412 million tons, destined for Africa (808,000 tons), Asia (575,500 tons), Europe (514,500 tons), Trinidad and Tobago (166,300 tons), USA (155,600 tons), Argentina (131,200 tons). tons) and the United Arab Emirates (60,500 tons).
