The increase reflects an increase in exports to the United States and South America.
The destinations in June were the USA (188,500 tons at a price of 479 USD per ton), Europe (82,800 tons at a price of 455 USD per ton), South America (29,300 tons at a price of 408 USD per ton) and Asia (1,000 tons at a price of USD 533 per ton), FOB terms.
Such prices were probably agreed in April, indicating the price of the BPI grade below 530 US dollars per ton, and the price of the foundry grade above this level.
Exports were carried out from producers in the southeastern states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo (148,000 tons), Maranhana and Para in the north (124,400 tons) and Mato Grosso do Sul (29,200 tons) in the central-western region.
