According to Secex, the secretariat of foreign trade of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Brazil exported 13,000 metric tons (t) of CRC in June and imported 36,300 tons, compared with 3,000 tons exported and 8,600 tons imported CRC.
In June, Usiminas exported 9,200 tons of CRC to Germany at US$745 per ton and 700 tons to Argentina at US$1,039 per ton. CSN shipped 1,700 tonnes to the US at $841 per tonne, and ArcelorMittal shipped 1,400 tonnes to Argentina at $1,297 per tonne.
Imports came primarily from Asia, totaling 36,200 tonnes at $563 per tonne, including 20,700 tonnes from South Korea at $560 per tonne. Europe supplied 100 tons at $1,264 per ton.
South Korea continues to replace China as Brazil's leading CRC supplier after Brazil imposed anti-dumping measures on Chinese CRC and coated sheet products.
