Imports of steel bars from Turkey to Georgia increased by 41.5% in the first half of 2026

In the period from January to June of this year, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover with Turkey, which is the country's largest trading partner, amounted to $1.66 billion, including imports of $1.39 billion, up 6.8%, and exports of $267.12 million, up 57.3% year-on-year according to preliminary data provided by the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In the first six months, Georgia's imports of ingots and bars made of iron or non-alloy steel from Turkey amounted to 102,442 tons, an increase of 41.5% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the value of these imports amounted to $61.38 million, an increase from $42.55 million in the period from January to June 2025.
