Brazilian HRC exports increased in June as shipments to the United States rose 23 percent

Brazil exported 21,100 metric tons (t) of HRC and imported 16,200 t in June, down from 17,800 t and 43,200 t, respectively, in May.

The sharp drop in imports reflected lower volumes received from Egypt, China and South Korea, which fell by 63 percent, 32 percent and 98 percent. percent respectively.

Exports were sent to the USA (16,200 tons at $591/t) and South American countries (4,900 tons at $644/t), all on FOB terms.

Shipments were carried out by ArcelorMittal (17,200 tons), Gerdau (1,600 tons), Usiminas (1,200 tons) and CSN (1,100 tons).

Imports were carried out from China (7,400 tons at a price of 502 US dollars/ton), Egypt (7,300 tons at a price of 556 US dollars/ton), Vietnam (1,200 tons at a price of 542 US dollars/ton) and South Korea (300 tons at a price of 1,042 US dollars/ton), also on FOB terms.
