Wuppermann and Stegra are teaming up to supply galvanized steel with almost zero emissions

German steel manufacturer Wuppermann and Swedish green steel manufacturer Stegra have announced that they have entered into a long-term tolling agreement under which Wuppermann will galvanize near-zero emission steel products produced at the Stegra plant in Boden, Sweden, for supply to customers in the construction, steel processing and mechanical engineering sectors.

The cooperation will be carried out through Wuppermann Staal Nederland, the Dutch subsidiary of Wuppermann. The company, which specializes in high-quality galvanizing of steel, currently operates five production sites throughout Europe.

Companies strive to create a value chain from low carbon steel

According to the companies, the Wuppermann strip galvanizing plant in the Netherlands has the lowest carbon footprint among comparable plants in Europe, supported by its patented heating-to-coating process.

The companies said the partnership combines Stegra's near-zero-emission steel production with Wuppermann's low-carbon galvanizing technology, creating an integrated value chain aimed at setting new standards for sustainable steel production.
