S. Department of Commerce, imports of hot-rolled sheet to the United States totaled 81,449 tons in May this year, up 128.7 percent from April and down 37.2 percent from May 2025.
The United States imported the most heat-rolled raw materials from South Korea in May - 37,910 tons, compared with 4,114 tons in April and 32,369 tons in May 2025. Other leading sources of imported HRC in May are Vietnam - 9,521 tons, Canada - 9,241 tons, Mexico - 7,528 tons, Brazil - 7,010 tons. tons, the Netherlands — 5236 tons, Japan — 2418 tons and Germany — 1492 tons.
