S. Department of Commerce, imports of cold-rolled steel to the United States totaled 75,804 tons in May this year, down 10.4 percent month-on-month and 15.6 percent year-on-year. In value terms, CRC imports totaled $65.6 million in May this year, compared with $70.0 million in April and $93.8 million in May 2025.
The United States imported the most CRC from Taiwan in May, at 17,086 tons, compared with 14,717 tons in April and 5,712 tons in May 2025. Other major CRC import sources in May include Canada with 13,197 tons, Vietnam with 10,587 tons, the Netherlands with 8,933 tons, and South Korea with 8,685 tons.
