S. Department of Commerce, exports of heavy building structures from the United States (including U, I, H, L, and T beams) totaled 21,680 tons in May this year, up 1.7 percent from April and 0.7 percent from May 2025. In value terms, exports of beams totaled $35.8 million in May, compared with $34.7 million in the previous month and $27.8 million. in the same month of 2025.
The United States shipped the most beams to Canada in May, with 12,435 tons, compared with 11,804 tons in April and 16,207 tons in May 2025. Mexico was the other leader with 8,349 tons. In May, there were no other important destinations (1,000 tons or more) for the export of beams from the USA.
