According to preliminary data from the U.
S. Department of Commerce, imports of petroleum pipe products (OCTG) to the United States totaled 102,835 tons in May this year, up 41.9 percent from April and down 45.9 percent year-on-year. In value terms, OCTG imports totaled $123.0 million in May, compared with $87.0 million in April and $233.2 million in the same month in 2025.
The United States imported the most OCTG from South Korea in May, with 35,833 tons, compared with 25,314 tons in April and 62,241 tons in May 2025. Other major sources of imported OCTG in May include Taiwan - 23,281 tons, Austria - 9,545 tons, Canada - 8,511 tons, Japan - 6,283 tons, Brazil - 5,002 tons, Turkey - 4,998 tons, Great Britain - 2,491 tons, Germany - 2,089 tons and Romania - 1,169 t
