Baker Hughes reported that in the week ended July 31, 2026, the number of drilling rigs in the United States increased by one rig per week to 588.
The number of drilling rigs producing gas remained unchanged at 127, while the number of oil drilling rigs increased by one to 451. The total number of drilling rigs in the United States increased by 48 year-on-year.
At the same time, the number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by 15 to 219 in the week ended July 31. The number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by 42 compared to the same reporting period last year.
