According to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June of this year, exports of hot-rolled coils (HRC) from Turkey amounted to 252,153 metric tons, which is 8.5% less than in May and 5.4% year-on-year. In the first half of this year, Turkey's HRC exports totaled 1.35 million tons, down 13.9%, while the value of these exports decreased by 13.7% to $788.21 million year-on-year.

Exports to the United States also totaled 24,551 tons, as no shipments were recorded during this period. Appointments were made in the same month last year, while increased exports to markets such as Morocco, Libya, Kosovo and Bulgaria also contributed to the increase in June.
On the contrary, exports to Portugal decreased by 89.2% year-on-year, while exports to Belgium and a 51.6% drop in exports to Greece played a crucial role in the overall decrease in tonnage in June. Overall, the June data suggest that while there was strong growth in some alternative markets, weakness in markets such as Italy, Portugal, Belgium and Greece led to a reduction in monthly HRC exports from Turkey.
