Austrian steel producer Voestalpine AG reported improved financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026/27, which ends on June 30, due to a diversified business portfolio, ongoing restructuring measures and continued international expansion, despite the difficult global market conditions.
As a result, the company generated a net profit of 196 million euros for the quarter, an increase of 84.6 percent year-on-year, while its revenue increased 2.5 percent year-on-year to 4 billion euros. In addition, Voestalpine's EBITDA for the first quarter was 495 million euros, an increase of 37.1 percent year-on-year.
The company's steel division generated revenue of about 1.5 billion euros in the quarter, maintaining its position as voestalpine's largest business segment. The company emphasized its global leadership in the production of high-quality strip steel, thick-rolled products and foundry products for complex energy applications.
Voestalpine forecasts that the company's EBITDA will amount to 1.60-1.85 billion euros for the entire fiscal year.
