Brazilian steel producer Gerdau reported consolidated net income of $286.897 million for the second quarter of 2026, up 70% from the same period in 2025, reflecting improved sales patterns, higher selling prices and measures taken to improve business competitiveness, the company said.
Net sales increased by 2 percent to $3.497 billion, while production costs decreased by 2.9 percent to $2.943 billion. Gross profit increased by 39.3 percent to $553.7 million, while operating profit increased by 57 percent to $456.4 million.
In physical terms, steel production increased by 6.2% to 1,560 million metric tons, while steel product sales increased by 2.1% to 1,352 million tons
Excluding exceptions, Brazil accounted for 20.1% of the group's EBITDA, 45% of steel supplies and 37% of net sales in the second quarter of 2018 2026.
North America accounted for 74% of EBITDA, 45% of steel shipments and 55% of net sales.
South America accounts for 5.8% of EBITDA, 9.4% of steel shipments and 7% of net sales.
According to Gerdau, the results are in Brazilian reais (BRL), recalculated at the rate of 5.11 Brazilian reais per US dollar
