Between January and July of this year, sales of heavy trucks (including chassis and tractors) in China totaled 753,000 units, up 21.0% from the same period last year, according to preliminary data released by cvworld.cn , a Chinese provider of information services for the automotive industry.
In July alone, China's heavy truck sales totaled 92,000 units, down 21.0% month-on-month but up 8.4% year-on-year, with the year-on-year growth rate slowing compared to the growth recorded in March, April, May and June this year.
The increase in heavy truck sales in the first seven months was driven by three factors: domestic trade policy, steady export growth, and the growing market penetration of new powerful trucks.
