Turkish integrated steel company OYAK Mining and Metallurgy Group announced its financial and operating results for the first half of 2026.
The group's net profit for the reporting period amounted to 9.22 billion Turkish liras (197.96 million dollars), a sharp increase from 1.82 billion yuan (39.08 million dollars) for for the same period in 2025, while sales revenue increased by 31.2 percent year-on-year to 124.57 billion yuan ($2.67 billion). Its operating system profit increased by 40.1% to 5.24 billion yuan ($112.51 million), while EBITDA increased by 54.1% to 12.51 billion yuan ($268.60 million).
In the first half of the year, the group produced 4.6 million tons of steel, including 1.8 million tons at its facilities in Eregli and 2.8 million tons in Iskenderun, representing 23% of total steel production in Turkey. The production volume of flat rolled products increased by 16.7 percent year-on-year to 3.82 million tons, while the production volume of long products increased by 35.8% to 497,000 tons.
Meanwhile, sales of the group's flat rolled products increased by 13.4% year-on-year to 3.75 million tons, while long products increased by 34.6% to 494,000 tons, with exports accounting for 14 percent of total sales. Capacity utilization rates for liquid steel and crude steel production increased to 97% and 95%, respectively, compared with 78% and 77% in the first half of 2025.
