The UK Department of Business and Trade announced that the anti-dumping duties on certain types of cold-rolled flat products from China and Russia expired on August 5, 2026. Accordingly, the relevant notice on trade remedies is no longer applicable.
These measures were in effect for five years, starting on August 5, 2021, following a review conducted by the UK Office of Commercial Remedies. The duty rates ranged from 19.7% to 22.1% for Chinese exporters and from 18.7% to 36.1% for Russian exporters.
The duties were initially introduced by the European Union and were subsequently incorporated into UK law after the end of the post-Brexit transition period. The UK government decided to maintain these measures until August 5, 2026, after the Office for the Protection of Trade Rights concluded that dumping and damage to domestic industry are likely to continue or repeat in the event of the abolition of duties.
The government has not announced an extension or replacement of these measures.
