Emsteel, the largest steel producer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced the supply of locally produced rebar and cement for the Etihad Rail passenger project, which contributes to the development of the country's strategic transport infrastructure.
The company supplied fittings for several stations as part of the project, as well as over 80,000 tons of cement used to produce concrete for passenger stations throughout the Al Dhafra region and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Emsteel emphasizes the sustainability of local production and supply chain
Emsteel stated that its participation in the project supports the UAE's efforts to increase reliance on locally produced products and increase supply chain sustainability. The Etihad Rail passenger project is also expected to improve transport links between the country's emirates.
The company has previously reported supplying materials for several major projects in the UAE, including the Baraka Nuclear Power Plant, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Burj Khalifa, Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Dubai Metro stations.
