Baker Hughes reported that in the week ending August 14, 2026, the number of drilling rigs in the United States increased by five compared to the previous week and amounted to 593.
The number of drilling rigs producing gas increased by four to 128, while the number of drilling rigs for oil production increased by one to 455. The total number of drilling rigs in the United States increased by 54 rigs year-on-year.
At the same time, the number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by three to 219 rigs in the week of August 14. The number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by 36 compared to the same reporting period last year.
