Norwegian steel producer 7 Steel Nordic, part of Sev.en Global Investments, has begun supplying steel billets to Czech steel producer Nova Hut, which, according to local media reports, paves the way for a potentially long-term supply partnership between the companies.
The first batch of square billets from the 7 Steel Nordic plant in Mo-i-Ran, Norway, arrived at Nova Hut a few weeks ago. The initial volume of the contract is several thousand tons, while both sides expect to continue cooperation in the long term.

Nova Hut steel semi-finished products require several hundred thousand tons per year to produce, according to Libor Cherny, head of Sev.en Global Investments' steel division, 7 Steel Nordic is capable of supplying tens of thousands of tons of steel per year. division. The materials supplied to Ostrava will mainly consist of ordinary low- and medium-carbon steel, which can be processed into products including profiles, corners and fittings. The billet will be delivered from port 7 of Steel Nordic in Muran by sea to Poland, and then by rail to the plant in Ostrava.
