The Indian company Hi-Tech Pipes plans to invest $ 68 million in expanding pipe production capacity.

The Indian company Hi-tech Pipes Limited (HPL) has planned a capital investment of $68 million to expand its production capacity from 1 million tons per year to 2 million tons per year to strengthen its position in the steel pipe market, the company said in a statement on Wednesday, August 19.

The expansion of production capacities will be carried out at the company's enterprises in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. The capital, estimated at $2 million, will be spent in the current fiscal year 2026-27, and the remaining funds will be spent in the period up to fiscal year 2028-29, the company said in a statement.

The expansion program includes a Direct Forming Technology (DFT) pipe production facility at HPL in Sanand, Gujarat, which is expected to be operational by the end of the current fiscal year.  The API (American Petroleum Institute) pipe production facility will also be ready in Sanand around the same time.

The company also plans to expand its production facilities for the production of ERW (resistance welded) pipes, specialized solar pipes and other high-value-added products, the company said.
