For the period from January to July of this year, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover with Turkey, which is the country's main trading partner, amounted to $1.96 billion, including imports worth $1.65 billion, an increase of five percent, and exports worth $308.0 million, an increase of 56.9 percent, as in on an annual basis, and in accordance with preliminary data provided by the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first seven months, imports of bars made of iron or non-alloy steel from Turkey to Georgia amounted to 122,094 tons, which is 20.4 percent more than last year. Meanwhile, the value of these imports amounted to 73.45 million dollars, an increase from 59.38 million dollars for the period from January to July 2025.
