Liaoning-based Chinese steel company Anshan Iron and Steel Group (Ansteel), a subsidiary of China's second largest steel producer Ansteel Group, has launched an environmentally friendly and low-carbon project to replace blast furnace No. 4 at its main iron smelter in Anshan City, Liaoning Province, northeast China., according to an announcement posted on the website of the Liaoning Province Department of Industry and Information Technology, August 10.
Blast furnace No. 4 with a volume of 2,580 cubic meters will be replaced with a new blast furnace of the same capacity, the construction of which is scheduled to be completed in February 2027.
