In July, the weighted average cost of purchasing coking coal and metallurgical coke increased by 8.42% and 8.07%, respectively, compared to the previous month. At the same time, the weighted average cost of purchasing Chinese-made iron ore fines (in dry form), imported iron ore and ferrous scrap decreased by 2.43%, 4.69% and 1.09%, respectively.
CISA: in China, the cost of purchasing coking coal increased by 13.82% in January—July 2026
From January to July of this year, the weighted average cost of purchasing coking coal, metallurgical coke, domestic iron ore, imported iron ore fines and ferrous scrap increased year-on-year by 13,82%, 11,85%, 2,06%, 1,03% and 0.59%, respectively, according to the Chinese Association of Ferrous Metallurgy (CISA).
