The newly commissioned complex includes two oxygen furnaces with a total capacity of 350 tons, two ladle furnaces with a total capacity of 350 tons, primary and secondary purification systems, two two-thread continuous casting machines and automation systems of the 1st and 2nd levels.
The capacity of the first converter, commissioned in December 2024, exceeded 20 melts per day during its first month of operation, and more than 6,000 melts were completed during the initial lining campaign. The second converter, commissioned in August 2025, exceeded 20 heats per day in six days after launch. Primetals has received final acceptance certificates for both converters, ladle furnaces, and slab molds.
Foundries can produce slabs with a width of 900-1650 mm and a thickness of 220 or 260 mm from various grades of steel - from ultra-low carbon to high carbon carbon steels to structural, HSLA, microalloyed and electrotechnical steels with a high silicon content.
JSW Steel orders two pelletizing plants for Paradeep
As part of the second project, Primetals will provide a full range of design, engineering, procurement of key technological equipment, automation, and implementation consultations for two pelletizing plants, each with an annual capacity of 8 million tons, at JSW Steel's Paradip plant.
Primetals and JSW Steel will continue to jointly develop process improvements after completion of work at the commissioning plants, taking into account production capacity, pellet quality and environmental performance, according to the statement of the plant manufacturer.
