According to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in July of this year, the production of cars in Japan, including cars, trucks and buses, amounted to 802 102 units. This is 7.8% more than in the same month of 2025. In the first seven months of this year, car production in the country increased by 3.7% year-on-year and reached 5,101,152 units.
Sales in the domestic market in July totaled 417,173 vehicles, which is 6.8% higher than in the same month of 2025. In January-July, 2,804,363 vehicles were sold in Japan, which is 2.5% more than a year earlier.
Exports of cars from the country reached 390,330 units in July, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year. From January to July, shipments of Japanese cars abroad increased by 1.6% and amounted to 2,443,119 units.
