New car sales in Canada decreased by 7.4% in July%

According to Statistics Canada, 176,156 new cars were sold in the country in July 2026. This is 7.4% less than in June and 2.0% lower than in July 2025. In monetary terms, car sales in Canada totaled $10.08 billion, compared to $10.69 billion a month earlier and $9.93 billion a year earlier.

Sales of North American-made cars in Canada in July totaled 111,076 units worth $6.79 billion, while sales of cars made abroad reached 65,080 units worth $3.30 billion.
