Interpipe TechFest 2017 gathered 15 thousand visitors in Dnipro

The festival of science, technology and modern technologies Interpipe TechFest 2017, the main technical and popular science event of the fall, has ended in Dnipro. Space and robotics, industrial enterprises and technical education, the largest spinner and the longest railway from LEGO, a battle of Ukrainian scientists. This is just a part of what the festival visitors saw on September 16-17, 2017.

“The main goal of the festival is to raise public interest in science, engineering and modern technologies. We want to return the fashion to the passion for technology and technology, to make engineering specialties more popular. Today we have taken one more step towards this goal, "said Dmitry Kisilevsky, Director for Corporate Relations of Interpipe, Head of the Interpipe TechFest Organizing Committee, during the festival.

Interpipe TechFest consists of an exhibition of modern engineering and technology, a lecture hall in the “simple about complicated” format and competitions in technical disciplines. This year's event is larger and more ambitious than its last year: 110 exhibitors, 45 lecture hall speakers, 50 master classes, competitions in 6 technical disciplines and 2 records of Ukraine. The number of festival visitors was 15 thousand.

The festival's exposition is divided into thematic blocks - Industry, Space, Robotics, Technical Education, Innovation, Experimentarium, DIY, Modeling, Gadgets. 110 participants will be represented this year.

The industry at the Interpipe TechFest came out from behind the walls of the factory workshops to the people on the street. Design Bureau Yuzhnoye and Yuzhmash demonstrated mock-ups of rockets and satellites. Ivchenko-Progress - the engine of the AN-70 aircraft. KrAZ - Shrek and Fiona armored vehicles. At the INTERPIPE stand, with the help of virtual reality glasses, one could find oneself at a metallurgical plant. UkrGazVidobuvannya presented equipment for gas production, with which our country ensures its energy independence. These machines were demonstrated to a wide audience for the first time.

Technical education was represented by 25 STEM-oriented educational institutions - from universities to out-of-school institutions.

Visitors were welcomed by robots, spectacular chemistry and physics, the opportunity to test new technologies, incl. drones, 3D printers and virtual reality glasses, internet of things, technical hobbies for children and adults. The guests of the festival were also able to take part in the battles of radio-controlled models of tanks.

New this year is the large-scale LEGO zone. At the Interpipe TechFest, the legendary Star Wars objects were built - the Death Star, R2D2, the Imperial stormtrooper and the X-WING rebel ship. For the construction involved 200 thousand cubes.

This year at Interpipe TechFest they set two records in Ukraine: for the longest LEGO railway in the country and the largest spinner. Achievements recorded in the Book of Records of Ukraine
