Ukraine in the world ranking of metallurgical production

According to Worldsteel, for 12 months of 2018 Ukraine ranks 10th among 44 countries producing pig iron 20.56 million tons. Metallurgical enterprises of the countries of the world produced 1,323.12 million tons of pig iron, of which 1,239.02 million tons by blast furnace method and 84.10 million tons by direct reduction. This is 2.79% higher than the indicator for the same period in 2017 (1,287.22 million tons).

The first place belongs to the People's Republic of China, whose metallurgists finished the year with 771.054 million tons of pig iron, which is 3.04% higher than the result of 2017 (748.33 million tons). The share of Chinese pig iron in world production is 58.3%.

Iran rose from 8th place to 7th (27.88 million tons, 128.51% versus 2017), overtaking Germany, which moved to 8th position (27.27 million tons, 98% versus 2017) .). The positions of the other leading countries have not changed.

Out of 64 countries producing steel, Ukraine is in 13th place .
World steel production in the 12 months of 2018 amounted to 1,789.61 million tons, which is 4.50% higher than in the period January-December 2017 (1,712.48 million tons).

The leader here is also the People's Republic of China, which increased steel production by 6.59% (from 870.86 million tons in 2017 to 928.26 million tons in 2018). The PRC's share in world steel production was 51.9%.

Iran is now in 10th place (25 million tons 117.73% compared to 2017), displacing Italy to 11th position (24.48 million tons, 101.69% compared to 2017). The rest of the positions remained unchanged.
