Steel production in Odisha is in dire condition due to lack of iron ore

The Indian steel industry located in Odisha is currently requiring urgent intervention from the central and state governments due to an unprecedented shortage of iron ore after 21 mines were closed due to expiration of leases and out-of-service status, resulting in iron ore crisis in the state.

Induction furnaces, rolling mills, billets and long products are now facing difficulties due to shortages.
