Wojciech Balchun, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia), said that it is necessary to strengthen support from the Ukrainian government to accelerate positive changes in the industry, including the reconstruction of railways and highways connected by common infrastructure.
The requirements of the head of the KM include various issues from the field of human resources: the possibility of unlimited dismissal of incompetent workers and early retirement, in accordance with the plan for optimizing human resources. Another key requirement for efficient operation is the possibility of more balanced transport tariffs. Other requirements boil down to strengthening and supporting the financial stability of Ukrzaliznytsia. In particular, the agreement and adherence to the principles of dividend policy, the need to initiate legislative changes and regulatory restrictions that increase the strength of the UZ bond, but also the ability of the council to make decisions on key investments.
At the same time, the government of Ukraine at yesterday's meeting decided to expand the composition of the council of the Ukrainian Railways. Thus, having given permission to take up the post of member of the board of Ireneusz Wasilewski, former manager and technician at PKP Cargo. The board currently consists of seven members, including four Polish citizens and a Serbian citizen, Marko Marczek, responsible for human resources.
