Roskomnadzor imposed a ban on the use of LinkedIn in Russia

Роскомнадзор наложил запрет на пользование LinkedIn в России

Just recently, in the Russian segment of the Internet, Roskomnadzor blocked access to the accounts of the LinkedIn website, which is an American social network created for business communication between participants. Russian telecom operators were also notified that now this network will not work in this country. Such measures in relation to LinkedIn were taken due to the fact that it was included in the database of violators of the law on the storage of personal information. Moreover, this social network did not begin to comply with this decree on storing data of Russians only on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Such measures of Roskomnadzor in relation to LinkedIn, to put it mildly, did not cause delight in the United States Embassy, which is located in Russia, as well as in the State Department. They demanded that the access block be lifted as soon as possible. And this is not surprising, because, thus, the American social network will no longer be able to make money on Russian users. Now, both in Russian, and in the American and other world media, there is a fierce discussion about which next network will be blocked. Surprisingly, this environment did not affect the state of the shares, falling only 0.06%, following the results of trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

Compared to Facebook, LinkedIn is a small social network. For example, Facebook has approximately two billion profiles of people, seven hundred and twenty million of whom visit this resource every day. In turn, LinkedIn can boast only four hundred million users. But, nevertheless, it can compete in the number of users from Twitter and Instagram, which are currently the property of Facebook. The main difference between LinkedIn and other social networks is a narrow area of specialization. Here a person can find a job, and a company, a firm, can find employees for its staff. In general, everything is specific and purely to the point. In the United States and Israel, this social network carries a lot of weight when applying for a job, as often at an interview, a job seeker is asked if he has a profile here. If not, then he will be less likely to get the position.

According to the SMM manager of the supplier proxy IPANN.NET this social network, in Russia, was mainly used by personnel workers as one of the search channels for suitable candidates, and also for finding business partners, in b2b format. That is, the number of people who actually found work through this social network is negligible and can be attributed to a statistical error.

Russian employers may not be interested at all if a potential employee has a LinkedIn account, as well as other social media. networks, unless it comes in handy in the process. Often, even before the adoption of the Law P
