When releasing machines and industrial equipment to the market of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, manufacturers and suppliers must comply with the requirements of technical regulations. One of the main documents in this area is the Technical Regulation TR CU 010/2011 “On the safety of machinery and equipment”, which establishes mandatory requirements for product safety at all stages of its life cycle - from design to operation and disposal. For a number of types of products, certificates of conformity TR CU 010/2011 or a declaration of conformity are required depending on the category of equipment.
The purpose of the technical regulations is to ensure the safety of machinery and equipment, as well as to create uniform requirements for the free circulation of products on the territory of the EAEU member states.
Which products are subject to the regulation
TR CU 010/2011 applies to a wide range of industrial equipment and machinery, including production lines, machine tools, lifting mechanisms, pumping equipment, conveyors, compressors, woodworking and metalworking machines, as well as many other types of equipment. For certain categories, confirmation of conformity is provided in the form of certification, for others - declaration.
When a certificate of conformity is required
The form of confirmation of conformity is determined by the lists of products established by the technical regulations. A certificate is required for certain types of machinery and equipment, while for other products the law requires the issuance of a declaration of conformity. Before starting the procedure, it is important to correctly identify the products and determine the applicable conformity assessment scheme.
What documents are prepared
When conducting a conformity assessment, a set of technical documentation is generated. It may include:
- safety justification;
- technical conditions (if available);
- operating manual;
- equipment passport;
- test reports;
- documents for components;
- contract or shipping documents (for a batch of products).
The list of documents depends on the type of equipment, the conformity assessment scheme and the status of the applicant.
