The production of steel in the Celestial Empire according to the forecasts of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies of China in 2013 will be a record 750 million tons, which is 4.6% more than it was melted last year.
2012 became “unsuccessful” for Chinese metallurgists a year, when production growth turned out to be the lowest after the crisis 2008, when the volumes of smelting fell by 1.8%, and already in 2009 recovered and grew until 2011 at a speed of about 10% per year. Last year, China steel plants were faced with a sharp drop in demand in world markets.
Meanwhile, for 2013, the Government of the PRC announced a number of infrastructure projects that significantly warmed up the domestic market of steel, and at the same time the international market of iron ore raw materials. Construction projects in the field of hydraulic and nuclear energy, the construction of dams and new railway highways have already led to an increase in demand for coking coals - the main fuel for the metallurgical industry.
Meanwhile, the domestic consumption of steel for 2013 is limited by a number of 700 million tons, and this obviously creates excess 50 million tons, which is equivalent to one month of the entire steel industry of the country, the China Ministry of Industry reports. "Chinese station wiring plants will experience sales difficulties and will not be able to achieve an acceptable level of profitability until the demand is balanced regarding the supply."
Steel production in China in 2013 will be 750 million tons, which is 4.6% more than in 2012
