World production steel increased by 9.6%

The world production of non -refined steel in 66 countries representing the World Wormas Metallurgy Association (WorldSteel) amounted to 115 million tons (million tons) in July. This is 9.6% higher than in July 2009.

The production of steel in China for July 2010 amounted to 51.7 million tons, and accordingly increased by 2.2% compared to July 2009.

Türkiye produced 2.4 million tons of steel in July 2010, which is 1.3% higher than in July 2009.

5.6 million tons of steel were produced in Russia in July 2010, which is 11.5% more compared to the same month of last year. The production of steel in Ukraine in July 2010 amounted to 2.4 million tons, which is less than 9.6% of July 2009.

In the United States, 6.7 million tons of steel were melted in July 2010, which is 32.9% more than in July 2009.

The world smelting steel in July 2010 is still less by 2.1% compared to July 2008. Nevertheless, while in China, South Korea and Iran, the production of non -refined steel increased in July 2010 compared to the same month in 2008, the USA, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Japan have not yet reached pre -crisis production.
