The Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant will double the production of cast iron

The Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant plans to increase the monthly production of cast iron by 52% to 182,000 tons in August, and another 108% to 380,000 tons in September 2010.

The recently reached agreement with Metinvest, on the resumption of iron ore supplies will allow the alchevskoye missile plant to launch all four blast furnaces in September (only two are working). The goal set for August to melt 182,000 tons looks realistic, however, according to experts, the plant has somewhat overtaken the bar for September. The real smelting of cast iron in September will be 270,000 -300,000 tons (+55%, which is 27% lower than the predictions of the plant).

The main problem in the Alchevsk Impress Commerce Plant is currently still unpaid debts in the amount of 145 million US dollars to Metinvest, which bears the risk of another stopping supply of iron -beam raw materials. Even after the growth of production that has now begun, indicators are expected at the level of February 2010, mainly due to the problems of the plant caused by a lack of working capital and raw materials in the first half of 2010.
