The Russian company "Evraz" declares a gradual increase in internal demand for steel largely thanks to government construction projects. At the same time, the existing level of Russian internal demand for steel is 15 - 20% lower than the pre -crisis level.
“There is a potential for the growth of demand for steel, since in volumes we have not yet exceeded the pre -crisis level, they are still 15–20% lower,” said Alexander Frolov, the executive director of the company. He also added that in the first half of the year, demand grew by 30% compared to last year.
Evraz reported a sales growth of 38% and the main income - by 147% in the first half of 2010.
