According to analysts, about 40% of China companies working with metal will reduce steel production or close their enterprises. The internal demand for steel in China continues to fall. It is expected that by 2011 Chinese production facilities for production had reached 780 million tons. Steel consumption next year will be about 580 million tons.
Such a reduction is associated with the fact that the Celestial Empire is firmly intended to reduce the number of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. In addition, an excess of production capacities in steel, cement and some other industries has developed due to outdated equipment and technologies. They will get rid of them first.
These statistics indicate that the volumes of steel production in Chinese factories in July 2010, compared with June, decreased by 3.7% and amounted to 51.74 million tons. The metal cutting of the current year in the PRC decreased to 1.711 million tons against 1.719 million at the beginning of the month. However, over the year, metal smelting in the same plants increased by 2.2%. The planned decrease in steel smelting will reach 25 million tons, or 3.6% of the total capacity in the country.
The first were 57 metallurgical enterprises in the Chinese province of Hebe, they are already closed. In the second half of the year, metallurgical plants will close in the province of Shanxi.
