In January of this year, Turkey's pig iron imports increased by 28.2 percent month-on-month and 42.6 percent year-on-year to 226,166 metric tons, according to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports amounted to $78.55 million, an increase of 29.9% month-on-month and 29.4% year-on-year.
Pig iron imports to Turkey - for the last 12 months
In the specified month, Turkey imported 170,270 tons of pig iron from Russia, which is 77.3 percent more year-on-year, followed by India, which supplied 50,590 tons in the specified month, and Kazakhstan, which supplied 4,946 tons of pig iron, which is 68.2 percent less compared to January 2025.
