In February this year, Turkey's hot rolled coil (HRC) imports totaled 369,822 metric tons, up 63.9 percent year-on-year and 190.8 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $203.14 million, an increase of 61.0 percent month-on-month and 188.6 percent year-on-year.
In the first two months of this year, Turkey's HRP imports totaled 497,002 tons, down 23.7 percent, while the value of these imports fell 24.9 percent to $ 272.53 million, year-on-year.

During this period, Turkey's largest source of HRC imports was Malaysia, which supplied 135,137 tons. Malaysia was followed by Russia with 103,242 tons, down 37.4 percent, and China with 70,560 tons, down 71.0 percent year-on-year.
