The United States International Trade Commission announced that it has initiated an anti-dumping (AD) investigation into imports of rolled tin products from China, Taiwan and Turkey, and a countervailing duty (CVD) investigation into imports of these products from China following a petition filed by domestic industry stakeholders. The purpose is to determine whether imports of the subject products materially harm or threaten the U.S. industry.
The petition was filed on April 9, 2026 by the United States Steel Corporation and the United Steelworkers.
The Commission will issue a preliminary determination within 45 days of filing the application, setting a deadline of May 26, 2026, if not will be extended. The results of the investigation will be submitted to the US Department of Commerce by June 2, 2026.
The products subject to the investigation are currently classified in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under subheadings 7210.11.00, 7210.12.00, 7210.50.00, 7212.10.00, 7212.50.00, 7225.99.00 and 7226.99.01.
