At the beginning of May (1-10 May) this year, the average price in China of HRB 400E 20mm rebar increased by RMB 78.3/mt ($11.4/mt) or 2.4 percent to RMB 3319.9/mt ($485/mt) compared to the price at the end of April (21-30 April), as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics China.
During this period, the average prices of wire rod, medium-sized steel sheet, hot-rolled coil (HRC), seamless steel pipes and angles increased by 1.8 percent, 3.6 percent, 2.9 percent, 0.3 percent and 2.0 percent, respectively, compared with the end of April.
