According to information published by the Port Authority Port Hedland, iron ore shipments from Port Hedland shipments to China totaled 38.48 million tons, remaining relatively stable compared to the previous month and down 6.4 percent year-on-year. South Korea and Japan followed China in March, receiving 3.44 million tons and 2.16 million tons, respectively.
On the other hand, iron ore shipments from Port Dampier increased by 19 percent month-on-month and 8.5 percent year-on-year to 13.51 million tons in April.
