From April 4 to the end of 2013, it was forbidden to import coke and semicondes to Ukraine, and also limited the import of a coke of the angle with a volume of 10 million 200 thousand tons. This was reported by the Ukrkox Association.
Co -coal quota includes 2 million 500 thousand tons of coal used in dust -contaminating fuel.
According to the Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, these measures were taken exclusively to protect domestic coaling companies. “We act in terms of protectionist policy in terms of coal mining in our country,” Eduard Stavitsky emphasized.
According to the minister, the decision on the commissioning of the quota contributed to a significant increase in the import of dual -purpose coal, which can be used both for the preparation of coke and in the energy sector. So, if 8 million tons of raw materials were imported in 2009, then in 2010 - already 10 million 500 thousand tons, in 2011 - 11 million tons, and in 2012 - 12 million 500 thousand tons.
As previously reported in Ukrkox, in 2013, Ukraine planned to import more than 13 million tons of coal coking coal, which is 9-10% more than in 2012. 10.5 million tons of raw materials were supposed to go to the production of high -quality coke, and another 2.5 million tons for the technology of dust -angle fuel.
As we have already reported, the restriction of the import into the territory of Ukraine Koks and semi -lane was actively lobbying for large gas suppliers. Thus, they have achieved that the country's metallurgical enterprises will be much less interested in modernizing the production of steel and, in particular, in the introduction of dust -angle fuel blowing technology. And this, in turn, will force metallurgists to purchase natural gas in much larger volumes.
