French pipe manufacturer Vallourec has announced a major contract with Azule Energy, a joint venture between Italian gas and oil company Eni and BP, for the Greater PAJ offshore development project in Angola.
As part of the contract, Vallourec will supply more than 26,000 tons of seamless carbon steel linear pipe, equivalent to approx. 210 km of pipeline, including advanced solutions for heavy insulation coating. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2027 and continue until December 2027.
The Greater PAJ project, located approximately 200 km off the coast of Angola in water depths of 1500-2000 meters, covers the development of five offshore fields, namely Palas, Astraea, Juno, Diona and Urano. Vallourec's products will be used for production, maintenance, water injection and gas export lines, supporting the critical infrastructure needed to safely and efficiently produce and transport hydrocarbons in ultra-deepwater environments.
